What is Microblading/3D Brows?

Microblading is a manual method used to deposit small amounts of ink in the superficial layer of the skin. It is considered to be a semi-permanent tattoo. It's an amazing technique for creating naturally defined fuller eyebrows.

How long does it last?

Your 3D brows will last as long as it's maintained. Untouched, the ink will last 1-3 years.

How often do I need a touch-up?

Touch-ups are recommended every 8 months to a year, to keep the color fresh and the strokes crisp. Wearing sunscreen and generally taking case of your skin can help maintain your new brows.

Does it hurt?

There is some discomfort associated with the procedure. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the area; taking 1-2 Tylenols before the service can help to ensure a totally pain-free service. Some say the sensation is similar to that of getting your eyebrows threaded.

How do I prep for the procedure?

There is no major prep required. Leaving your eyebrows alone for a week (no tweezing, waxing or otherwise removing the hair) is preferred; also, avoiding the use of any retinol products one week prior.

What should I do after the procedure?

Avoiding any exfoliants for the next 1-2 weeks, swimming pools, steam rooms, etc. Avoid washing the area for the first 24 hours and any sun exposure. A more thorough discussion will be provided at the consultation.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure takes roughly 2 hours; however please allow a 2.5 hour window as a buffer so nothing needs to be rushed.

Do I need to take time off work?

No, there is no downtime associated with the treatment. Redness and swilling dissipate within an hour after.

How long does it take to heal?

Healing time varies for each individual. Typically about a week to 10 days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. After this your skin will be considered to have healed. 

What is the mircroblading process like? 

Microblading is a 2-step treatment consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch-up 4-8 weeks after. 

A before photo is taken and we consult together on the best brow shape, desired thickeness and color to suit your features. A topical anesthetic is administered and then the pigment is deposited. 

During the healing process it is normal to experience some pigment loss; hence the touch-ups we have in place 4-8 weeks after upon which the process is complete.
