While the past year has been all about the loose, romantic updo, we're seeing more brides wearing their hair up in a more structured ballerina-style updo. Personally I'm a fan of having your hair up high as it's flattering and keeps the hair out of your face all day/night long (especially in Toronto's humid summer months)!
There's been a clear trend in the last few years for looser and unstructured curls. Many of the weddings we've been a part of have common themes of romance, etherealness, and bohemian chic. Having the curls worn long and loose, with a bit of hair pulled back on both sides or only on one side gives an effortless, romantic vibe. I personally love the look of having only one side pulled back and showcasing a beautiful clip, the look is flattering on everyone and you get the best of both worlds - hair down and away from your face. For those that want their hair down but can't quite get their hair to grow enough or would like some extra volume or length, we have hair extensions customized to your hair colour for either rental or purchase for your wedding day.
Bridal Hair Accessories
We've always been a fan of adding a hair accessory or embellishment to a bride's hairstyle to give it something extra special for the wedding day. Not only does it photograph great in photos, it can also help balance out an updo or add to the theme of the wedding. Whether it's a small hair comb pulling back one side of the hair or a crystal band woven through your updo, we have a selection of bridal hair accessories at Schulz Beauty for you to try on during the trial to see what would look best.
2016 is trending to see an increase in butterflies, either scattered through a loose braid, braided crown or updo. Also an increase in fresh flowers worn in the hair and flower crowns are becoming more popular; this is a great option for relaxed summer wedding.
Despite what's trending, the final decision for your hair should complement your dress, neckline and theme of the wedding. Choose whatever makes you feel best!
